## Design and branding

Whitelabel fully included in all Business plans. In the free plan and some Academic plans, a subtle QUESTIONSTAR notice stays visible.

- **13 layout templates** — Ready-made style templates — fonts, colors, images preconfigured. Presentable even without your own corporate design.
- **Add your logo** — Position left/center/right, size and background adjustable.
- **Your own colors and fonts** — Hex codes, Google Fonts, or upload your own font.
- **Custom domain** — feedback.yourbrand.com instead of survey.questionstar.com — as a paid add-on with DNS setup.
- **Responsive preview** — Preview on smartphone, tablet and desktop — see what respondents will see before the survey goes live.
- **Source code editor — HTML, CSS, JavaScript** — Available in every plan. Template engine with placeholders ({{template-title}}, {{progress}}, {{body}}, {{button-back/next}}) for clean integration.
- **Progress bar** — Shows completion progress — can be turned on or off.
- **Back button** — On or off, depending on your methodology.

## Distributing surveys

- **Direct link** — One public URL — shareable, permanent or time-limited.
- **Token links / personal links** — One unique link per recipient, single-use, with expiry date. Also as a short link for SMS, print or personal handover.
- **QR code** — As SVG and PNG, scalable without limits — from business card to poster.
- **Website embedding — 5 modes** — Inline, button, tab, modal, bubble. JavaScript embed with responsive heights (autoHeight / minHeight / maxHeight) and saveParentURL for context capture.
- **Social link with OG preview** — Title, description and preview image definable. OG tags ensure a clean preview in LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp or Slack.
- **Email sending** — With personalization and scheduling. Reminders go only to recipients who haven’t answered yet — those who finished get an optional thank-you instead.
- **Contact lists** — With opt-in and opt-out functionality. Import from CSV or maintain directly in the tool.
- **Email delivery report** — Sent, delivered and bounced counts per mailing.
- **Scheduler — fixed points in time** — Invitation three weeks ahead, reminder the day before, feedback the day after. Fixed dates, no relative triggers.
- **Quotas and screening** — Set a maximum per answer option or respondent profile. When the quota is full, you decide what happens: continue to the end of the survey, branch to another path, or politely decline.
- **Prevent multiple responses** — Selectable per survey: cookie-based (one browser, one response) or via personal token link (one person, one response).

### Panel provider integration

- **Quota system** — Up to 100 quotas per survey — for panel-provider studies with screener logic.
- **Complete / screenout / quota-full callbacks** — Three status-specific callback URLs per survey — the panel provider gets the right information automatically.
- **URL redirect at survey end** — Respondents land on a configurable target URL after finishing — e.g. the panel provider’s complete page.
- **Web-service call (webhook) at survey end** — Bulk-completion HTTP trigger — POST to an external URL with the response payload.

### Conditional triggers / closed loop

- **Conditional email trigger** — Condition met → email to defined recipients. With or without response payload.
- **Conditional webhook trigger** — Condition met → web-service call with response payload. For closed-loop workflows in CRM, helpdesk or Slack.
- **End-of-survey trigger** — Email + web-service POST + URL redirect — all combinable at survey end.
- **Stackable rules** — Multiple conditions with AND/OR. Multiple triggers per survey in parallel.

## Data collection

- **Open surveys** — Anyone can fill them in, no login.
- **Closed surveys** — Password-protected or via personal token links.
- **Returning-respondent detection** — Via cookie and personal link. Prerequisite for “pause + resume” and “prevent multiple responses”.
- **Pause and resume** — Respondents can continue later from the same spot — including back-navigation after resuming.

- **Time limit per survey** — Maximum completion time per survey — e.g. for exam or test setups.
- **CAPTCHA for public surveys** — With customizable intro text / instructions. Anti-bot protection for open surveys.
- **Double opt-in for email address collection** — When you collect email addresses, automated confirmation via a verification link.

- **Custom system messages** — Your own texts for error and system messages per survey.

### Multilingual surveys

- **Multilingual with AI translation** — Translation into 106 languages with AI support. The admin adds a language and reviews the translation. In the questionnaire, the respondent’s language is detected automatically — if it exists, it’s selected. Alternatively, a language-selection page can come first.
- **Custom labels per survey** — Override buttons, hints and error messages per survey — instead of the system default.
- **Translation tab in the survey settings** — Central management of all translations per survey.
- **Multilingual text analysis** — Responses in different languages, analysis consolidated into one target language.

### Kiosk mode / on-site surveys

- **Kiosk mode** — Survey in full screen — no browser navigation, no toolbar access. Suited for tablets in waiting rooms, at reception, or at events.
- **Auto-restart at the end or on inactivity** — After completion, or after a defined time without activity, the survey returns to the start automatically — ready for the next respondent.

## Data and analysis

- **Real-time dashboard** — Responses appear immediately. Live counter without refresh — the numbers are always current.
- **Overview of key indicators** — Completion by channel, 14-day trends, quota status, mailing statistics.
- **Interactive live voting** — E.g. during a lecture or concert — live voting with visible results.

- **Multi-report system** — Several separate analysis reports per survey on the same dataset — e.g. NPS deep-dive, sentiment snapshot, quarterly comparison.
- **Automatic updates for new questions** — The main report adds a new visualization automatically. In additional reports this is off by default (can be enabled) — those are usually meant for focused views.
- **Per-visualization export** — Export a single chart — not necessarily the whole report.
- **“Apply to similar charts”** — Bulk-edit visualization settings across several matching charts.
- **Report export** — Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF — with real, editable Office charts, not images.
