# At the End of the Survey

## About the "End of Survey" settings

In the "End of Survey" tab, you define what should happen after a respondent has fully completed the questionnaire.

Here you determine whether the survey ends with a thank-you page, a redirect takes place, an email is sent, or a web service is called. These settings let you shape the end of the survey deliberately — depending on your use case.

![End of Survey](/api/media/file/Ende-der-Umfrage.png)

## Hide End and Back buttons

When you enable this setting, the **last page of the questionnaire** no longer shows the **"Next" and "Back" buttons**. As a result, respondents can **no longer leave the page** and **cannot return to previous pages** to change their answers.

This option is especially useful when:

- you want to design the last page individually, e.g. with **a custom HTML layout or special formatting**
- you **do not want to use an additional standardized thank-you page**

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> When you enable this setting, you should **no longer ask any questions** on the last page.
> The answers are still saved, but without a visible Next button many respondents are **unsure** whether their entries were actually submitted.

## Show an additional thank-you page

When the **"Show thank-you page"** setting is enabled, **after the last page** of the questionnaire built in the editor **an additional page with a thank-you text** is displayed.

![End-of-survey settings](/api/media/file/end-of-survey_image003.png)

On this page, **no Next or Back buttons** are shown — the survey is thereby **finished** for the respondents.

You also have the option to **edit the default text of this page individually**.

![Edit thank-you page](/api/media/file/Danke-Seite-bearbeiten.png)

## Show the respondent's answers

Once the survey is complete, you have the option to **show respondents their own answers**.

In this case, after the last questionnaire page, the entire questionnaire is presented on **a single page at full length**. The answer options selected by the respondent **selected by the respondent** as well as **any text they entered** are visible — however, changes are **no longer possible**.

The respondent can then **save the displayed answers as a PDF and/or print them**.

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> Only the questions that the respondent **actually saw** while completing the survey are shown.
> Questions that were skipped by skip logic or hidden by display logic **do not** appear in the overview.

## Show interim results

When you enable the **"Show survey report"** option, a previously created **aggregated results report** is shown at the end of the survey. This is useful, for example, for **votes** where participants should see the results so far.

![Show survey results](/api/media/file/Umfrageergebnisse-anzeigen.png)

After selecting this option, a **dropdown field** appears in which you have to select an existing **survey report**. The selected report is shown after the last questionnaire page. It takes into account all **questionnaires fully completed up to that point** — including the answers of the current respondent.

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> If no suitable report exists yet, click the **"Create Report"** button. You'll be taken to the **"Analyze Results"** view, where you can create a new report. After saving, you'll return to the **"End of Survey"** setting and select the new report in the dropdown field.

> 💡
>
> **Important:**
> If the **"Show survey report"** option is enabled but **no report is selected**, the **additional thank-you page** is shown instead.

## Redirect respondents to a website

If you want to redirect your respondents after completing the survey to a specific website (e.g. your homepage) or a web service (e.g. Salesforce, CRM systems), enable the **"Redirect to a specific URL or web service"** option.

![Redirect to URL](/api/media/file/Auf-URL-weiterleiten.png)

In the input field that appears, enter the **target URL** — including placeholders or parameters if needed.

### Automatic passing of URL parameters

All URL parameters that were appended to the survey link when the survey was opened are **automatically passed to the target URL** during the redirect. This allows systems such as panel providers to identify respondents unambiguously later on and track their participation.

### Example: working with a panel

You work with a panel provider and want to record which participants fully completed the survey.

1. The panel provider appends individual parameters to the survey link, e.g.: `https://survey.questionstar.com/ce1e3b78as?userId=1234&panelId=567`
2. After successful participation, the respondent should be redirected to the panel provider's target page: `https://panelbetreiber.de/checkout`
3. The parameters `userId=1234` and `panelId=567` are automatically appended to the target URL: `https://panelbetreiber.de/checkout?userId=1234&panelId=567`

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> You can also use dynamic placeholders such as `{{PersonalizedID}}` in the target URL to pass individual information from the survey.

## Run the survey in a loop (kiosk mode)

In certain use cases — e.g. at trade fairs, info points, or public terminals — it can make sense to **automatically restart the survey after each completion**. This way the next person can immediately begin a new response.

To do this, enable the **"Restart Survey"** option.

![Kiosk mode](/api/media/file/Kiosk-Modus.png)

Each new response is saved as **its own record** and can be analyzed independently.

When this option is enabled, additional settings are available to you:

    - **Automatic restart after a set time:** Enter the desired number of seconds in the *"Automatically restart survey after"* field. Example: if you enter `30`, the next response starts automatically **30 seconds after completion**.
    - **Restart after inactivity:** If no activity occurs, the survey automatically restarts after the specified time — ideal for avoiding blocked devices in kiosk operation.
    - **No automatic restart:** Enter `0` or leave the interval field empty. In this case, the survey only continues **when you click the "Restart Survey" button** manually.
    - **Mark incomplete responses as completed:** Enable this option if every survey that was started should be counted even if it wasn't fully completed.
    - **Edit the text on the interim page:** Between two responses, an info page appears. The text of this page can be customized.

![Customize kiosk mode text](/api/media/file/Kiosk-Text-anpassen.png)

### Typical scenarios for survey loops (kiosk mode)

- **Reception area:** The survey runs on a tablet in **kiosk mode**. After a visitor has completed it, it automatically restarts.
- **Trade fair or field survey:** An interviewer surveys several people one after another. After each participation, the survey is reset.
- **Data entry from paper questionnaires:** When digitally entering paper questionnaires, the online questionnaire reloads after each entry.

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> This setting is especially suited to **kiosk mode**, where the survey is meant to be completed several times in a row without manual intervention.

## Call a web service

With this function you can **automatically transmit data to an external web service** once a survey is complete. This lets you forward respondent answers to a CRM system, an API, or an analytics tool, for example.

![Call a web service](/api/media/file/Webserivice-aufrufen.png)

To do this, enable the **"Trigger a Web Service"** option, then click **"Edit Web Service"** to configure the settings.

### Target URL and request method

In the configuration window, enter the **URL of the web service** to which the data should be transmitted.

Also select the desired **request method**:

- **GET** — parameters are passed in the URL
- **POST** — parameters are sent in the request body (recommended for larger or sensitive data)

### Define parameters

You can add as many parameters as you like. Each parameter consists of:

- a **parameter name** (as expected by the target system)
- a **value** that can be determined dynamically

The following sources are available as parameter values:

- **Text** — a fixed, freely definable value
- **Answer to a question** — a respondent's answer to a specific survey question
- **Custom variable** — a calculated value of a variable
- **A/B test** — group membership in experimental designs
- **URL parameter** — a parameter that was already included in the survey link
- **Field from the contact list** — e.g. last name, first name, and/or custom fields such as region, customer status, etc.

### Advanced settings: Send answers as

Under *"Send answers as"* you can specify whether the values should be transmitted as:

- **coded values** (e.g. 1 for "Yes", 2 for "No")
- **text** (e.g. "Yes", "No")

. This setting is useful when the receiving system expects a specific data format.

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> The web service connection is especially helpful when you want to **automate** your survey with external systems or enable **immediate further processing** of the results.

## Send a notification by email

With this function you can **have yourself automatically notified by email** as soon as a person has fully completed the survey.

To do this, enable the **"Send notification to this/these email address(es)"** option.

![Notification](/api/media/file/Benachrichtigung.png)

### Enter recipient addresses

Enter one or more email addresses in the input field. You can store several recipients — simply separate them by entering and confirming each address individually.

### Include answer data in the email

Optionally, you can enable the **"Include answers in the email"** checkbox. This displays the answers given by the respondent directly in the notification email.

> 💡
>
> **Note:**
> This function is especially helpful when you want to **monitor the survey results in real time** or when a **quick manual response** to new feedback is needed — e.g. for support requests or application forms.
