Page Settings

In the Page Settings panel on the right, you can configure key settings for whichever page of your questionnaire is currently selected. Among other things, these settings affect the behavior, logic and layout of the questions on the page.

Below is an overview of the available functions (see the numbering in the screenshot):

1. Opening the page settings:
   To show the page settings in the panel on the right, click the gear icon "Open page settings" in the top-right corner of the respective page.
2. Mark as completed:
   By default, respondents' records are only marked as "completed" once they leave the last page of the questionnaire. Only these records are included in data analysis and in results reports.
   Often — and methodologically correctly — a questionnaire is structured so that the research-relevant questions come first, followed by supplementary, optional questions. In such cases, it's a good idea to turn on the "Mark as completed" toggle on the last page that is relevant to the research. Records are then counted as completed as soon as respondents leave that page — regardless of whether the following pages were answered.
3. Close Survey:
   If you use skip logic (filtering), the questionnaire can have several possible end points. To deliberately end the questionnaire at a particular point, turn on the "Close Survey" toggle on the relevant page. Respondents will then see no further pages.
4. Randomize Question Order:
   Enables a random arrangement of the questions on the current page. This function is particularly useful for avoiding order effects.

5. Random Number of Questions:
   Lets you display a defined number of randomly selected questions from the available pool on the page.

6. Add Display Logic:
   Controls the visibility of the page dynamically — for example based on previous answers or other conditions.

7. Add Skip Logic:
   When leaving the current page, this triggers a targeted redirect to another page in the questionnaire — for example, to skip a question branch that isn't relevant to a given respondent.

8. Start Loop & Merge:
   Starts a loop — a function that lets you run one or more pages multiple times for specific items (e.g. products or services).

9. Require response for all questions on this page:
   Determines whether all questions on this page must be answered.
   → This setting applies page-wide but can be overridden individually for specific questions.
10. Copy Page:
    Creates an identical copy of the current page along with all the questions it contains.
    → The copy is inserted directly afterwards.
11. Delete Page:
    Removes the current page from the questionnaire — including all content on it.

Additional notes

12. Editing the page title:
    Click the page title in the workspace to edit it. The page title helps you find your way around in the editor and is also shown in the navigator.
    → Note: This title is not shown to respondents in the questionnaire.

    Tip: If you'd like to display a page title in the questionnaire itself, add an Info Block at the top of the page and enter the desired title there.
    

13. Page icons in the navigator:
    In the navigator, you can identify special page properties — such as "mark as completed" or "close survey" — by special icons. These reflect the settings enabled in the page settings panel.
