Overview: what can you customize on the dashboard?

The QUESTIONSTAR dashboard gives you several ways to tailor your survey overview to how you work. You can filter, sort and search surveys, and control which information is shown. That way you get exactly the overview you need for your work.

Filter options in the dashboard

Right above the survey list you'll find three central filters:

• Status filter: Shows only surveys in certain states — e.g. "In progress," "Started" or "Closed"
• Owner filter: Distinguishes between "All owners," "Belong to me" or "Shared with me"
• Sort filter: Lets you sort by "Last edited," "Creation date" or alphabetically by name

Combining these filters lets you narrow down what appears on the dashboard — for example, to see only your active surveys or to find recently changed projects faster.

Sorting surveys

The sort filter determines the order of surveys in the list. Your options are:

• By last edited — shows the most recently edited surveys at the top
• By creation date — lists surveys chronologically
• Sort by Name — sorts surveys alphabetically

Choose the sorting option that best fits how you work.

Using the owner filter

If you work in a team or share surveys with others, the owner filter helps you keep your bearings. You can choose whether to:

• see all surveys
• only surveys that belong to you
• or surveys that have been shared with you

Especially on shared projects, this setting makes navigation much easier.

Filtering by editing status

Using the status filter above the survey list, you can display surveys specifically by their editing status. The following options are available:

• Show all statuses — shows all surveys regardless of status
• In progress (new) — shows surveys that haven't been started yet
• Started only — shows surveys where data collection is already running
• Closed only — shows surveys where data collection has ended

This filter is especially helpful when you want to work specifically with running or prepared surveys — or hide completed projects to focus on current work.

Adjusting view settings

Using the "Settings" button, you can control which information is shown per survey on the dashboard. This includes, for example:

• Owner
• Sharing status (shared use)
• Number of pages
• Number of questions
• Number of translations
• Statistics at a glance (Completions widget)

Turn individual items on or off as needed. That way you can make the display deliberately leaner or more informative — whatever you prefer.

Using the search bar

The search bar at the top of the dashboard lets you quickly text-search across all visible surveys. Just type part of the survey title — the list is filtered automatically and shows only matching results.

This is especially handy when you have many surveys or don't know the exact name.
