Connect the QUESTIONSTAR MCP with ChatGPT
ChatGPT now supports QUESTIONSTAR natively — via the official QUESTIONSTAR plugin. No prior sign-in to QUESTIONSTAR required: ChatGPT walks you through the authorization.
Set up the connection
- Open ChatGPT and click Plugins in the left sidebar.
- Type questionstar into the search field.
- Click the + on the official QUESTIONSTAR plugin.
- Confirm the Connect QUESTIONSTAR dialog with Connect.
- In the QUESTIONSTAR authorization dialog (“ChatGPT is requesting access …”): Allow.
The connection is now active.
Good to know
- If you’re not yet signed in to QUESTIONSTAR, you’ll be prompted to do so first — the authorization dialog appears afterwards.
- To connect the plugin with a different account, use “Sign in as a different user” in the authorization dialog.
- Steps in the ChatGPT desktop and mobile app are analogous; menu items may be named differently.
First prompts to try
- “Show me my surveys” — a quick inventory.
- “What can I do with QUESTIONSTAR via the MCP — and how can you help me with it?” — the AI client tells you itself which tools are available. Especially useful when you’re just starting out.
