When Netigate is a good fit

Since 2005, Netigate has specialized in customer and employee feedback for companies. In several situations, Netigate can be the better choice:

  • When feedback from many channels should come together. Netigate consolidates surveys, external reviews, support tickets and chat conversations on one platform, depending on package and add-ons.
  • When AI text analysis should be built in. Netigate identifies factors influencing metrics, and in the Insights package also themes and sentiment in free text, and answers questions via Ask AI.
  • When many systems should be natively connected. Netigate offers connectors for Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Power BI and others.
  • When you want support from the start. Onboarding by specialists and a Customer Success Manager are always included; Consulting supports with 360-degree feedback, workshops and panels.
  • When your procurement requires an ISO 27001 certification of the vendor. Netigate is certified as a company; at QUESTIONSTAR the stated certification refers to the data centers.

Use QUESTIONSTAR if...

Neither charges a per-user fee; with QUESTIONSTAR the number of users is unlimited from PROFESSIONAL onward. The difference lies in how you get started and which research features are included in which plan.

  • ...if you want to start without a quote and annual contract. QUESTIONSTAR: Free plan, MONTHLY €59/month per active survey, all prices public on the pricing page. Netigate states "from €7,000/year" with annual billing according to its pricing page and creates quotes; the scope at the entry price is not specified.
  • ...if you want to know whether a difference is statistically significant. QUESTIONSTAR: filters, crosstabs, group comparisons, t-tests and other significance tests, plus SPSS export with variable labels, value labels and measurement level, even in the Free plan. With Netigate the SPSS export is reserved for selected licenses according to its help; significance tests are not publicly documented.
  • ...if respondents should only see the questions that apply to them. QUESTIONSTAR: branching with multiple conditions, quotas, block randomization, loops and piping. Netigate's reviewed logic guide describes jumps, hiding and AND/OR conditions; piping, loops, randomization and quotas are not publicly documented.
  • ...if automatic translation should be included in every plan. QUESTIONSTAR: automatic translation into 106 languages, unlimited language versions, even in the Free plan. Netigate offers AI translation; multilingual surveys are not included in all licenses according to its help.
  • ...if reports should be further edited in PowerPoint and Word. QUESTIONSTAR creates analysis reports as editable Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, plus PDF. Netigate exports PowerPoint, Excel and PDF; the PowerPoint export uses a standard template according to its help, a custom template depending on the license; a Word export is not publicly documented.
  • ...if you want to choose the AI assistant and connections yourself. QUESTIONSTAR includes no built-in AI text analysis; you analyze free text with your own AI assistant, which you connect via the MCP server, in every plan. You connect other systems via REST API, webhooks, Zapier or n8n, building the workflows yourself. Netigate offers integrated AI text analysis and numerous native connectors; an MCP server is not publicly documented.

Point by point, without marketing phrasing. Note: Netigate states an entry price with annual billing and creates quotes; the scope at the entry price is not specified. Models and features are compared, not identical scopes of service. "Not publicly documented" means: not described in the public sources, not: not available.

Migration: AI import via MCP

Netigate exports results as Excel, RAW or, depending on the license, SPSS; translation texts can be downloaded as Excel. QUESTIONSTAR currently offers no dedicated Netigate importer; the AI-based MCP path handles the reconstruction.

Path: AI import via MCP

  1. Print the questionnaire as a PDF, provide the survey link, or use the translation export as Excel.
  2. Hand the file or link to an AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) with a QUESTIONSTAR MCP server.
  3. The AI reconstructs question texts, answer options and pages in QUESTIONSTAR; you add logic and language versions in the review.

Limits of reconstruction: What gets transferred is what is visible in the source material. Triggers, notifications, action plans and connectors are not transferred automatically; which workflows can be rebuilt with QUESTIONSTAR, the API, webhooks, Zapier or n8n is something you should check separately.

The time required depends on the complexity. For larger volumes we offer a guided migration service.

For ongoing collections a clear cut-off date is advisable: close running surveys in Netigate and start new waves in QUESTIONSTAR. Export previous responses as Excel and bring them over through the MCP path if needed.

More on the MCP integration.

For businesses and universities

QUESTIONSTAR covers surveys from a single research group to a large corporation, with all survey features already in the Free plan.

  • Hosting: IONOS SE in Germany (EU), ISO 27001 certified data centers, in every plan. On-premise available in the CUSTOM plan.
  • GDPR: DPA available for direct download, sub-processor list public.
  • SSO: for user accounts in PROFESSIONAL as an add-on, included in CUSTOM; universities via eduGAIN and national federations (InCommon, UKfed, SWITCHaai; DFN-AAI for Germany) from CHAIR on request.
  • Academic plans: STUDENT €29/month, RESEARCHER €295/year, CHAIR €895/year, CAMPUS on request.
  • Support: by phone and email for all customers, regardless of plan.

From around 30 to 50 simultaneously active surveys or individual compliance requirements, get in touch with us directly. That is sorted out faster by phone or email than through a pricing page.

What Netigate does better: feedback from many channels, integrated AI text analysis, native connectors and support.

Discuss an enterprise setup

Your data stays your data

If QUESTIONSTAR no longer convinces you at some point, you get all of your data out in full: as SPSS, CSV or Excel. Anytime, without canceling, without an extra fee, without asking. We treat data export as a baseline, not a bargaining chip.

Who is QUESTIONSTAR a good Netigate alternative for?

Icon: watercolor illustration of a pixelated silhouette - anonymity

For employee surveys

When HR sets up employee surveys itself, with an anonymity threshold, group comparisons and significance tests: QUESTIONSTAR with all features in every plan. The limit: if you are looking for a guided EX program with a Customer Success Manager and consulting, Netigate offers more support.

For market research

When crosstabs with significance tests, quotas and SPSS export are part of everyday work: QUESTIONSTAR with all analysis features in every plan. The limit: if you want to buy panels and study support from a single source, Netigate offers consulting for that.

More on other use cases

For international surveys

When surveys run in many languages: QUESTIONSTAR automatically translates into 106 languages, even in the free plan. The limit: if you have translations done professionally anyway, automatic translation offers little.

For universities and research

For university departments and research teams, QUESTIONSTAR offers its own academic plans: STUDENT €29/month and CHAIR €895/year with public prices, CAMPUS on request, with significance tests and SPSS export in every plan. The limit: if the university wants to bundle feedback from many channels centrally and with support, Netigate is more broadly set up.

Common questions when switching from Netigate

What does Netigate cost, and how does QUESTIONSTAR bill?

Netigate states a starting price from €7,000/year with annual billing and creates quotes based on response volume, AI features, integrations and business units/touchpoints. QUESTIONSTAR bills by simultaneously active surveys, with public prices, monthly or annually; all survey and analysis features are included in every plan. Neither charges a per-user fee; with QUESTIONSTAR the number of users is unlimited from PROFESSIONAL.

Is the data stored in the EU?

With both. Netigate hosts in EU data centers (Azure); QUESTIONSTAR hosts with IONOS in Germany (EU), in every plan. Both offer a DPA.

When does Netigate remain the better choice?

When feedback from surveys, reviews, tickets and chats should come together on one platform, when AI text analysis should be built in, when you need many native connectors, or when onboarding, a Customer Success Manager and consulting should be part of it from the start.

Can I bring over my Netigate surveys?

Yes, via the AI-based MCP path from a PDF, survey link or translation export. You bring over previous responses as Excel via the MCP path as well.

Can I analyze free-text responses with AI?

Yes, with your own AI assistant that you connect to QUESTIONSTAR via the MCP server. QUESTIONSTAR does not include a built-in AI text analysis like the Insights package from Netigate.

Can I connect CRM and other systems?

Yes, via REST API, webhooks, Zapier or n8n, with your own workflow setup. Netigate offers native connectors for many systems.

Can I still compare waves?

Yes. You export your existing results from Netigate as Excel and bring them into QUESTIONSTAR via the MCP path. You create comparisons between waves using filters or with your AI assistant via MCP. When doing so, check whether questions and answer codings are comparable.

Is support available in English?

Yes, by phone and email, for all customers regardless of plan.
